Cleanly Remove the Center Moil
The uniqueness of the Belvac Series of Trimming and Finishing Machinery is best detailed by its modular construction.
Producers of extrusion blown neck-to-neck containers, have traditionally been limited in their ability to cleanly remove the center moil and present the now separated logs in an upright fashion for further processing.
Belvac production Machinery has overcome this challenging constraint with the introduction of our MT Series Systems. Logs are fed directly from the extrusion wheel via a customer supplied transfer ramp to the MT Series infeed. Our mechanically driven double “D” knife assembly provides a sliver and burr free separation of the two containers. Depending upon the demands of the product line, containers can be fed into collection bins or uprighted, and if required, combined via starwheels into a single line for further processing. Such additional modular offerings from Belvac include our patented burnishing system (as shown below), designed to smooth out the top sealing surface (TSS) and the inner neck finish.
Applications requiring additional processing of the finished container can be outfitted with modules to provide leak detection and camera based vision systems, as detailed in the modular line drawing below.
Plastic bottle producers are faced with numerous challenges. One of them should not be how to provide their customers with a consumer friendly finished container, with maximum seal integrity. With the wide array of options available for packaging a variety of products in plastic, including PET, various polyolefin constructions, PVC, PP, and other compositions, the Belvac series of trimming and finishing machines provide you with the solution to this daunting challenge.
Over the years, Belvac Production Machinery has been responsible for numerous advances in can making technology. Belvac has developed innovative designs and processes enabling customers to steadily increase line speeds, improve quality and productivity, while significantly reducing material costs. Now, Belvac is using this same core competency to engineer and manufacture both medium and high-speed precision machinery solutions for the plastic container industry.
