The IC2000 and IC4200 Mass Bottom Rim Coaters are designed to coat cans with the dome down. The roller applies coating to the rim of the cans as they pass over a magnetic or vacuum mat prior to a customer-supplied curing system. The Mass Rim Coater is available in widths of 24 and 42 inches.
The IC2000 and IC4200 units are driven by an integrated 3/4 HP motor and gearbox and matched to the roller speed of the customer-supplied conveyor by a variable speed drive. The entire coating unit is manufactured from corrosion resistant material, predominately stainless steel.
The stainless steel gravure roll is coated with ceramic, which is etched for application of water based lacquers. Cans are coated randomly in any quantity, from full pack to odd cans.
The Delrin gravure scraper blade and roll seals are mounted in an anodized aluminum and stainless steel fountain assembly. The roll pressure adjustments are precisely interlinked to ensure parallel movement of the applicator roll, gravure roll and fountain assemblies.
