Patent Awarded to Belvac

Lynchburg, Va., July 7, 2009 -- Belvac Production Machinery, Inc., A Dover Company (NYSE-DOV), and a leader in 2 piece can machinery manufacturing, has been awarded a new United States patent for their Bottle Can Manufacturing Apparatus on the various can forming machine products. The new patent is U.S. #7,464,573, an Apparatus for Curling an Article.
Defined by the patent abstracts as: ”An apparatus for providing a curl on a top edge of a can comprises a forming head; and a forming turret with a push ram to load the can into the forming head. The forming head includes a plurality of independent rollers mounted on a common head. The plurality of rollers includes a first set of rollers configured to form an inner portion of a curl and a second set of rollers configured to form an outer portion of the curl.”
