Introduction of two new series of machines

Lynchburg, VA,USA -- Belvac Production Machinery, Inc., a Dover Company (NYSE-DOV) and a leader in can and other rigid container machinery manufacturing, announces the introduction of two new series of machines to trim and finish wide mouth PET containers manufactured from narrow neck preforms.

Over the years, Belvac Production Machinery has been responsible for numerous advances in can making technology. Belvac has developed innovative designs and processes enabling customers to steadily increase line speeds, improve quality and productivity, while significantly reducing material costs. Now, Belvac is using this same core competency to engineer and manufacture high-speed precision machinery solutions for the plastic container industry.

Rated at up to 800 containers per minute, the Unique DT Series Rotary Trimming Machines allow the cost efficient production of wide mouth PET containers, by utilizing standard narrow neck, instead of wide mouth preforms. The production of wide mouth containers in this manner, with existing multiple cavity injection molds and blow molding equipment, allows blow molders to realize higher production efficiencies and reduce costs. The DT Series Trimmer technology is based on Belvac's high-speed can making trimmers, the world's standard in trimming technology.

For precise trimming and finishing of the container, the proven Belvac patented trimmer technology has been incorporated into the DT Series to ensure burr-free, sliver-free and step-free trimming for PET containers with diameters ranging from 50 mm to 110 mm, and heights between 80 mm and 240 mm. Models for various speed requirements are available. Versions are available for finishing the inside neck of HPE, LDPE and other polyolefin containers.

The FT Series Rotary Flange Trimming Machines are another breakthrough trimming solution from Belvac. Based on the Belvac patented can flange trimmer, the FT Series Trimmers are used to produce PET "cans" from narrow neck preforms with a flange suitable for double seaming of pressurized products.

Rated at up to 800 containers per minute, the FT Trimmers will precisely trim to a fixed flange diameter without burrs, steps or slivers for PET containers between 50mm to 110mm in diameter. Modular trim stations are designed for easy removal and simple maintenance, as well as interchangeability between models. Additional modules allow for neck curling, pressure/leak testing, vision inspection, PS label application and more.
