Lynchburg, Va., July 7, 2009 -- Belvac Production Machinery, Inc., A Dover Company (NYSE-DOV), and a leader in 2 piece can machinery manufacturing, has been awarded a new United States patent for their Can Manufacturing Apparatus on the various can forming machine products. The new patent is U.S. #7,497,145, is for Pre-Loaded Cam Follower Arrangement.

Defined by the patent abstracts as: ” A cam follow arrangement has a rectangular-shaped through hole formed in an end portion of a ram member, the through hole having first and second opposed ends and a pair of parallel sides. A slider which is disposed in the rectangular-shaped through hole is configured to be slidable back and forth along the parallel sides toward and away the first and second ends. A spring is disposed between the slider and the first end of the rectangular-shaped through hole to bias the slider toward the second end of the rectangular-shaped through hole.”

Defined by the patent abstracts as:
”A machine arrangement includes a plurality of machines arranged to cooperate with each other in a manner which comprises a machine line. This machine line incorporates apparatus which is associated with and/or comprises part of the machines for: at least one of moving, holding, manipulating and shaping cans as they pass from a can infeed to a can discharge of the machine line and move along a path having a predetermined configuration. This apparatus minimizes operations necessary for changing from a set up suitable for modifying a can having a first set of dimensions to a set up suitable for a can having a second set of dimensions.”

Belvac Announces New High Speed Selective Sorting Technology

The ability to remove a can during production at speed, while maintaining the working dynamics of the necking process, provides the most accurate sampling possible, thus avoiding costly downtime and spoilage. The High Speed Selective Sorters’ HMI software also provides a limitless combination of programmable recipes to accommodate any customer’s quality sampling needs. Belvac Delivers Rotary Solution for Offset Neck Polyolefin Extruded Bottles!

Lynchburg, Virginia - Belvac Production Machinery, a Dover Company (NYSE-DOV) and a leader in can and rigid plastic container converting machinery manufacturing, announces the recent delivery of a new and innovative designed machine to finalize plastic containers often difficult to trim due to shapes and container stability. this includes F style containers, large volume handleware, automotive lubricants, household detergent containers, and more. 

Belvac has developed innovative designs and processes enabling customers to steadily increase line speeds, improve quality and productivity, while significantly reducing material costs. Belvac continues its commitment to the plastic container industry with this newest model introduction. 

Rated at up to 200 containers per minute or 12,000 per hour, the Unique DTO Series Rotary Trimming System allows for the cost efficient production of offset neck containers, by utilizing a rotating head, in conjunction with positive control of the container, held in place by a starwheel pocket, and base platform. The rotating head uses a cam actuated mechanically driven knife with three blades to ensure a repeatable perfect chipless trim, while minimizing blade wear. The DTO can be combined with our F Module, chipless burnishing or "finishing" system, for removal of parting line mismatches, and neck finish profiling for plug or spout insertion, ensuring seal integrity, and elimination of leakers. 

This new and innovative design affords blow molders the opportunity to also use straight wall dome configurations and other lightweighting techniques, reducing gram weight and costly regrind, for both polyolefins and center neck PET wide mouth bottles.

Belvac Introduces Plastic Container Trimming and Finishing

Belvac has developed innovative designs and processes enabling blow molders to steadily increase line speeds, improve quality and productivity, while significantly reducing material costs, with performance and throughput in mind.

Our technology allows our users to present their customers with a superior package, ready for filling and capping. We will have a range of information on display at the upcoming Pack Expo Show November 7-11. 

Exhibits will include our established line of rotary moil trimming and burnishing systems, and flange trimming system to allow you to better acquaint yourself with our technology. 

In addition, we will have our two newest additions on display. They include our Model DTO for offset neck containers, such as F style or motor oil containers; and our DTNR for trimming non-round neck finishes. This includes ovals, squares, rectangles and other non-round shapes.
